A new restaurant and bar in Manchester is hoping to save customers an eight hour flight.
Fenix is a secret hotspot that is about to open up in Spinningfields. Fenix takes you on a trip to the Mediterranean where you can taste dishes that bring modern Greece’s high end culture from Mykonos to the UK. Launching on the 30th of November 2023.
In the 1960s and 70s mass tourism started to flourish to the beautiful island of Greece as the island enticed a staggering tourism increase of 1,098 percent. This beautiful location attracted the wealthiest of people to this destination which in turn made it even more desirable for a gorgeous getaway. Then came Mamma Mia… Although these films were set on the fictional Greek Island of Kalokairi, Greece, the films featured so much of the Greek Islands’ architecture that UK tourists were left dying to visit.
After all of the hype surrounding Greece had people jetting off, Manchester finally decided to bring a little bit of Mediterranean culture home with the opening of Fenix. The unique brand name comes from Greek representation as the Phoenix represents triumph over adversity, cyclical regeneration and rebirth. “Fenix was born into uncertain and challenging times, and it’s character is it’s destiny – breathing fresh energy into a Manchester dining scene when it’s most needed” the restaurant states.
This restaurant and bar is a space designed for relaxation and indulgence. With the owners (Adam and Drew Jones) providing a fresh insight into Greek culture and food. With everything from a lunch menu that is available from 12pm to 3pm everyday to an A La Carte sharing concept menu to help you embark on your very own journey of Greek discovery.
With only days until the anticipated opening, Fenix has already gone TikTok viral with many Mancunians expressing their excitement. This seems like an experience that you should definitely divulge in.
