The Create Student Awards are back and celebrating a decade of honouring the students at the University of Salford.
In recognition of their tenth edition, 2025 will be the biggest awards ceremony yet and take place at the prestigious Lowry Hotel on Thursday 12th June.
Create Awards is an opportunity to celebrate the work of the undergraduate and postgraduate from the Arts, Media, and Creative Technology School and their achievements from throughout their time at Salford.
Associate Dean for Engagement and Enterprise and academic lead behind Create, Sam Ingleson, said: “The Create Student Awards are an important event in the School of Arts, Media and Creative Technology calendar, enabling us to not only to recognise and celebrate the achievements of our students across a wide range of subjects but to share those stories with our Industry friends and colleagues from across the university. This is the 10th year that Create has been running and we are excited to welcome back previous winners and alumni as well as recognising the creative stories and successes of our current students.”
The evening will start with a VIP drink reception, followed by an awards ceremony and a three-course meal for the student nominees, their friends and family, academic representatives, University VIPs, and professional colleagues from the creative industries.
There are eight categories which students can nominate one another for – each of which are highly sought after accolades:
– School Ambassador Award
– Civic Engagement Award
– Engagement with Industry Award
– Equality, Diversity, and Inclusivity Award
– Environmental Sustainability Award
– International Student Award
– Outstanding Commitment Award
All entries will be considered for the most notable award – The Dean’s Award for Academic Achievement, with the winner selected by the School’s Dean and Pro-Vice Chancellor, Professor Allan Walker. This is an impressive chance to have recognition for your work and celebrate with friends or family and network with industry.
Nominations for the awards open from Monday 6th January until Wednesday 5th March with both students who nominate and those nominated being invited to the awards.
The campaign will be promoted across the social media pages and on campus, with further details being released closer to the time. Students can enter via the online form, which will be released across student email in the new year.
Further information on the event and nomination process will be released in due course.
