Salford Red Devils are offering schools free tickets for their game against Wigan Warriors next month as part of an ongoing initiative to bring ‘the spectacle’ of live rugby to children.
The club is returning with their ‘Building the Future’ initiative which offers schools from Greater Manchester chance to attend Betfred Super League games.
This scheme concentrates on bringing younger generations to support their local rugby team as well as creating opportunities for kids to become future Salford Red Devils stars.
Paul Trainor, Salford Red Devils Director said: “It is fantastic to welcome the students and staff from schools across Greater Manchester to watch Salford Red Devils at the Salford Community Stadium.”
The club together with Salford Red Devils Foundation works with schools in the region as part of its school partnership programme, which motivates children to find and use their capabilities as best they can on and off the field.
“As a club, we have been delighted with how many schools have attended ‘Building the Future’ games over the past three seasons,” added the Red Devils director. “Many of the young people who attend our ‘Building the Future’ games are attending their first live sporting experience.”
This project, which first launched in 2021, has brought over 100 different schools with over 7,500 children attending a match at the Salford Community Stadium.
Trainor added: “Live rugby league games are an incredible spectacle with the power, pace and skill on show, combined with the atmosphere created by our fans – making it an unforgettable experience for the students.”
Schools that wish to attend can use the online Google Form where they can sign up and request tickets for students as well as for the accompanying staff.
For every 10 children tickets acquired, school receives one free adult ticket if the school requests more adult tickets, these can be bought for discounted price of £10.
For the game against the local rivals Wigan On Thursday March 14, all the schools will be seated at the East Stand of the Salford Community Stadium.
The deadline for the schools to book tickets for this event is 5pm on Monday March 4.
