Bee Network changes bus route to include Salford Quays

The Bee Network plans to change the X50 bus route to link Salford Quays and Manchester city centre.

The current service runs between the Trafford Centre and Manchester. The new change will include stops along Ordsall Lane and Salford Quays.

Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM) and Salford City Council are aiming to improve public transport and solve the current issue of a lack of bus routes for the ever growing Salford population.

The council will be contributing £2million toward extending the service and upgrading local roads.

Some residents are concerned with parking issues on Ordsall Lane and a council officer confirmed that some of the funding will be used to improve the double yellow lines. The meeting occurred on 11th November at Salford Civic Centre.

The new service is expected to be running by 2025 with the route set to be reviewed after two years.
