BBC’s big move to Media City- is it causing Salford residents commuting issues?

People from Salford have said that the BBC’s move to Media City has caused traffic problems in the area.

With only one single main road carriageway serving the entire district, people living and working in Salford believe the BBC’s big move has made it harder to drive into the City.

Regular commuter Mandy Dearing said, “it’s easy to find, but you can be sat queuing for a while.”

Traffic congestion has made it a challenge for regular commuters to make their way in and out of the city.

Katie Smith, a barrister from Salford stated, “if you come in between eight and ten it can be a bit of a nightmare, especially coming down Regent Road.”

The BBC’s relocation to Media City has been described as one of the most significant public sector relocations in UK history.

Since its unveiling in 2012, Media City has created a brand-new hub for media and commerce.

Thousands of people work in Media City, and many call it a home.

Public transport like trams have been working to make traveling into the city easier but many still believe more needs to be done as the City expands.
